Someone should give Jason a medal.
He’s actually six chapters into his review. You can read the series here:

I’ve blogged before about how the theory of ancient aliens being responsible for the monumental building of ancient Egypt and other contemporaneous civilizations is inherently racist. The idea is basically that the humans of Egypt and these other cultures were...
The Atlantic just published this interesting short article on the Atacama “alien” — a subject I have blogged about several times: “The Controversial Study of a Girl Who Ufologists Called ‘Alien’.” As to the racism element, you can read...
Remember the Atacama “alien” that was the centerpiece of a Steven Greer film? Well, the important peer-reviewed journal Genome Research published the following article on the specimen today. Bhattacharya S, Li J, Sockell A, Kan M, Bava F, Chen, S,...
Back in June 2017 I blogged about the newest hoax by serial hoaxer Jaime Maussan — the “discovery” of three-fingered alien mummies in Peru. Maussan of course was one of the people behind the ridiculous Roswell slides. I suggested at the time the same...
Jason Colavito has a lengthy, but worthwhile (as usual) post on Rice University Prof. Jeffrey’s Kripal’s claim for UFOs in medieval art. Kripal shows his unfamiliarity with the work of art historian Diego Cuoghi on this matter. PaleoBabble readers should...
If you’re following this story, this post from Archaeology Review is quite worthwhile: A Review of Jaime Maussan’s Alien Mummy from Peru. The highlight is an X-Ray of the three-fingered alien hand hoax perpetrated by Maussan. Here’s a portion of the essay...
I didn’t even know he was still alive.
I always refer to the fourth Indiana Jones movie as Indiana Jones Meets Erich von Daniken. Then I’m saddened when people say, “Who?”
I don’t remember if I ever read any if his books. I probably learned about him on In Search Of. I remember reading a book called “Our Ancestors Came from Outer Space” (I think that’s right), and there was one about Jesus being an alien.
And speaking of aliens, Whitley Strieber was on Coast to Coast the other night.
Yeah, Jason’s my new hero because of this series of posts. Sorry, Mike.
Just more proof that the AA folk haven’t had a new thought in thirty years. Regurgitating the same tale over and over keeps making these people money, why? Oh yeah… people are gullible. For shame EVD! For shame…
As glaringly stupid as Däniken is, the digestion of this series is soured by the constant harping of “EVD is a conservative”-line. Even if this were the correct placement of EVD’s views in an extremely simplistic system – which I doubt very much! -, how does this affect his crackpot theories? Or does the author equate conservative and crackpot anyway?
agreed; it’s irrelevant.
