Michael Heiser on UFO Disclosure, Aliens, and Christian Gullibility

by Carey Griffel | Sep 24, 2026 | Updates

Following Michael Heiser's work on the paranormal, one thing you might notice is that he frequently paid close attention to claims about UFOs, including supposed government disclosures as well as religious ideas that often grow around these topics. He addressed these topics frequently with a posture not founded on fear, hype—or automatic dismissal. He repeatedly urged Christians to distinguish genuine curiosity from gullibility, to avoid forcing aliens into the Bible, and to demand better evidence for sensational claims. Dr. Heiser remained open to the possibility of extraterrestrial life, but he encouraged Christians not to build theology on speculation. Openness does not mean gullibility. If “disclosure” ever happens in a meaningful way, Christians still need to ask what is actually being disclosed, what evidence is being offered, and whether the conclusions really follow from the data. These are questions we should still ask today.

Heiser also rejected many simplistic claims of “aliens" in the Bible. Angels, demons, gods, the sons of God, and nephilim belong securely to the biblical writers’ ancient worldview, not to modern extraterrestrial speculation. Forcing aliens into those texts—whether through ancient aliens theories or simplistic “aliens are demons” reactions—misreads the Bible.

Dr. Heiser's skepticism of disclosure antics rested on discernment, not fear or closed-mindedness. Current public UFO/UAP discussions make that caution still relevant: NASA and the Department of Defense’s AARO have both stated that they have no evidence that UAP are alien technology, but this does not prevent the usual pat Christian answers. If anything, continued government denial of alien evidence may add fuel to the fire. But Christians do not need to panic over disclosure claims. Nor do we need to dismiss every question out of hand. We need careful thinking, sound interpretation, and patience to separate evidence from narrative.

Below you will find a few of the many blog posts that Dr. Heiser wrote on the topic of UFO disclosure and Christian views of UFOs.
