In the inaugural episode of the Naked Bible Podcast, Dr. Michael Heiser begins a deep-dive series on baptism—one of the most familiar yet theologically tangled concepts in Christianity. Despite its central role in Christian practice, baptism often carries assumptions that create significant theological tension, especially when comparing traditions like infant baptism and believer’s baptism. Heiser exposes how these views can contradict other core doctrines such as election, salvation by faith alone, and the nature of the covenant. Drawing attention to overlooked biblical texts like Colossians 2:11–12 and the Abrahamic covenant in Genesis 17, this episode encourages listeners to reevaluate their theological framework, not through tradition, but through direct engagement with Scripture. This first installment lays the groundwork for a series that promises to challenge long-held assumptions and bring theological clarity.
The structure is perfect, but they need to be longer. I think this will be a major new way for you to reach people online!
thanks – everything I’ve read says no more than 15 minutes, though.
Yeah!
Nicely done. How many times did you rehearse ? 🙂 Or you read aloud what you spoke.
twice; the second time was the keeper.
I dont claim to be an expert but several popular Christian and secular shows I listen to are longer. Apologetics 315, Reasons to Believe, The White Horse Inn, Stand to Reason Even tech shows like the ones on CNET.
The other thing is, dont get bogged down on the term PODCAST. That is a buzz word popularized by the advent of iPods 10 years ago to differentiate web audio from radio. But now the lines are very blurred now. Stand to Reasons podcast is just their entire radio show posted online. I think the term podcast is as elastic as the term blog.
Its up to you of course, but my vote is for a longer show. Regardless of what you do I will enjoy and learn a lot!
Great! I’m subscribed. Keep up the good work.
Great start! I’m looking forward to listening, learning, and being challenged.
Excellent! And yes… figure out how to do longer episodes!
How frequent will these podcast be?
My goal is one per week. Thanks!
