Literal Translation and Digital Bibles

by drmsheiser | May 2, 2008

My friend Hall Harris of Dallas Seminary blogged about this recently. Timely, since Hall has done a New Testament Greek-English interlinear for us, and will be embarking on producing a literalized translation for us for our own (Logos Bible Software, my employer) translation of the NT.

i have a question about Revelation 8:13….In the KJV and NKJV it says ” I looked ,and i heard an angel flying in the midst of heaven.”….but new translations say its an eagle flying….. which is correct?

The “angel” rendering is a Textus Receptus reading, on which the KJV is based. “Eagle” has the support of the older major uncial manuscripts.
