Aryan Mythology as Science and Ideology

by drmsheiser | May 30, 2011

I recently came across this interesting scholarly article on how Aryan Paleobabble was used by the Nazis. It’s a good academic introduction tracing their rationale and (mis)use of archaeology, linguistics, and social science data.

@ MSH It is interesting: however its not just the Nazis that understood semitic religion and myths as a force of unification of people.the nazis barely commiting a mistake by trying to go against
centuries of christianism. New right wing ideologists do not attempt this, they understood the usefullness of religion as it trained people to be obedient to god, to the king, to the ruling cast..
    to authoritarian power

Take example to our imperial war for oil profit by example, it is lead by myths, half truths etc.
If you were going to compare our current right-wing propaganda to banned propaganda video
from the nazis , you wouldnt see much difference except may be that the right wings of today pretend to be Christian, Judaist or to certain extent pretend to like Muslims..

Wars have always been inflicted on the poorest, the weakest of the people and have always been launched for profit.

It is not because nazi germany died, that evil empires didnt continue to prosper on the poor.

The leftists have plenty of evil to offer us as well. What you’re describing is better terms “crony corporatism.” Fascism is actually an ideologically leftist phenomenon (worker’s parties and revolutions, that sort of thing — like Hitler’s party), but anyone who wants control over other peoples’ lives imbibes the fascist dream.

@ MSH thanks for this excellent article; its interesting to see the state of mind of the nazi mythologists. It also reminds me my attemptS to read putative Mein Kemp as i was too disgusted
to finish.. Hitler followed the same line as many of the thinkers mentioned in the article. The book is really indicative of Hitler intention to shape and mould the SS at his image.. the institutionalization and systemization of hate towards jews..

@ MHS I disagree with this statement ” Fascism is actually an ideologically leftist phenomenon” Fascism have it’s primary roots into right wing ideology; it may be true that autoritarian communism has resonance fascist but it is not all the left that are communists. Take the anarchists and people who espouse participatory democracy and economics..

As a matter of fact you are right crony corporatism has evolved since the nazi and it have always used the same type of propaganda. Take the corporations that helped Hitler , they are now incorparated inside the american military complex and it dictates wars and policies over the world.
It is more subtle with its propaganda, it like religion because it trains people into obedience for an autority that is not there, to obey a Jesus, a messiah an Obama who are not only “not here” but offers no solutions to the problems facing humanity..

Look at Obama by example,” a man of peace” who escalated the wars and violence in the
world, whom wont do anything about global warming because it conflict US interests .

The man that said he would change the US has continued Bush policies; you cannot tell any differences; except that he is better at selling wars.. Our championd of democracies have been better at preventing it than promoting it..

read Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism. It’s meticulously documented using many (but not only) primary sources. We have been fed a definition of fascism that is contrary to the reality. It’s a pretty startling wake up call.

Twice now I’ve typed in comments explaining why Fascism is left wing and indeed almost identical to communism in the most important senses and both times when I hit submit they have just vanished. I guess you’ll just have to take my word that they were very erudite and convincing 🙂 Anyway, Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism was incredibly well done. If I had my way it’d be required reading in all American schools.

none of your comments have been deleted. I really could care less if they appear here, other than the fact that the subject really isn’t germane. I loved Goldberg’s book as well. It’s terrific.

I wasn’t implying that you deleted my comments. I was saying that for whatever reason (probably a browser session issue) they never got submitted. When I clicked submit they didn’t post, the page reloaded and whatever I had typed was just gone.

    • MSH

      weird; got this one anyway.

@MHS..I posted 3 comments, it does not seem to get posted.. I attempt to display why
Goldsberg accusation about the new left do not hold..

    • MSH

they won’t post immediately – I have to approve them. Got this just fine.

  7. Lost Angel

is there a lmit on how many words can be posted in comments?

    • MSH

      nope

  8. Lost Angel

I think a software erro, the blog is not allowing me to post,: i saved my text and it does not allow me to paste it neither

  9. Lost Angel

@MSH the text I am trying to post have about 450 words; i saved it on my computer and will paste it when this bug is resolved..I think you must have a limit on numbers of words in your comments

Also when i log in my account , there is an error message saying that “your” back-up folder isn’t correct…

“Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public”

To correct this issue, move the *xxxxxxxxxx file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to /home1/michaew1/public_html/PaleoBabble/wp-content/backup-db

( the file name I masked with xxxxxxxxx for your site security purposes)

    • MSH

hmmm. Thanks for this. I never imposed a limit, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one somehow. I’ll try and fix this today.

    • MSH

I just made the recommended wordpress change. I also checked my comments settings. There is no word limit set, and I don’t even see a place where one could be set. All comments are held for moderation (as before). Try and post something else and see if you get the same behavior.

Copied– I am actually surprised you consider Jonah Goldberg..

Jonah Goldberg book for what I am seeing in it appears to be reactions rosed from being called a fascist himself, his is book shows he does not know what fascism is. It is pure idiocy. It is at best a form of right-wing propaganda to the cue with the like of Anne Coulter etc.. it is so far to the right,
only non-sens hold it together. It has no cultural or even historical basis. Its to wonder what “new Left” he have observed..

    • MSH

this is terribly wrong on your part. He documents everything meticulously, and his book has been reviewed by scholars positively.

  11. Lost Angel

it does not allow me to continue and explain further

  12. Lost Angel

if you were to give Goldsberg credit [Hiteler wasn’t a fascist but the communists, leftust and libreal were.. He promoted an elite class, the new left promote no such thing

    • MSH

They are both / all fascists; Goldberg isn’t arguing Hitler wasn’t a fascist. I think you need to read the book.

  13. Lost Angel

Mein Kemp was Hitler first instrument, if you pay attention you see he wished to shape his country,
his army at his image, the odeology on top of being anti-semitic was ultra right wing.. and it is not far from how our democracies work at this time..corporations being able to shape people opinion into some dictatorship rules

    • MSH

Since this subject doesn’t pertain to Paleobabble, this will mark its end on this blog.
